Biking in Andalusia: September 2024! A group of 9 of us who have enjoyed exploring Europe on bike together over the last 10 years were absolutely delighted with the Andalusian tour Cycling Country arranged from us, from the technical bike assistance angles to the accommodations and routes! After a day in Granada, we started the actual biking from Alhama, and enjoyed having 2 nights there to better get to know the area with its gorges, olive groves, the majestic peaks rising beyond the turquoise waters of a reservoir.
Proceeding to Colmenar via a viewpoint marked with a mountain goat, we had our first taste of
Spain's natural preserves. The optional loop en route to.Antequera provided an introduction to the extraordinary geology of the rock formations we would continue to encounter. There also we spent 2 nights which allowed a spectacular loop up to Archidona, and with the most excellent e-bike I was riding, made the bike climb up to the Hermitage perched on top of this hilltop city a breeze!). We appreciated having a chance to see so many different views of the iconic "Peña de los Enamorados" (Lover's Rock) and time to explore the city. Ardales was next, perhaps my personal favorite, as we sensed a warm communal spirit in this small town with its stunning church, and shrine high up on the windy top of the mountain. I loved stumbling on the poem by Jose Salmago Que cuántos años tengo? near our hotel, and the plaque at the Plaza St. Isidor recognizing the efforts all the people of the town. Ronda as a final destination for two nights was icing on the cake. The meals arranged were all wonderful, and we were grateful for a chance to try out options to explore the delicious tapas and cuisine on other nights. This trip provided a chance to really get to know more about this part of Spain, its history and culture! In Antequera and Ronda, there is a bull ring, and in the Ronda Parador Hotel, the walls are covered with paintings of matadors, bulls, and you learn of Hemingway's friendship with a matador and his time in the town. Thank you Maggie and Jeff -- and Dean and Juan. I appreciated the personal touch who ran up and down the hill near the shop alongside me to make sure I was comfortable with using the e-bike at the start of the trip! I also enjoyed the personal touch of the women who ran the lodging in Alhama and Ardales who were happy to converse and patient with my limited Spanish.

We had wonderful time cycling through challenging elevations in south of Spain (the white villages tour). The self guide option is great, the app fantastic, with clear guidance, deserted roads, but if passed by extremely polite drivers. The villages are simple, little not much there but we ware there to ride, rest, smile and ride again. Maggie was great, she was attentive when we needed something which we really didn’t.
Good simple hybrids. We are hooked.

We had an Incredible adventure cycling through the Northern Coast of Spain this June 2023 . We were self guided and I cannot say enough as to how well the routes were mapped out , leading you through beautiful landscape and villages. Each hotel was perfectly located, so welcoming and beautiful. The food and wine , fantastic . Cycling Country is oustanding and their attention to detail is impressive. It's clear that Maggi and Geoff are avid cyclists themselves in their thoughtful planning, and their clear desire to assure you will have a trip of a lifetime (we did) . Cycling is a beautiful way to see the country, providing so much adventure that I'm already planning my next trip with Cycling Country to Portugal , come join us !

On our way home after another fantastic self guided cycling tour organised by Cycling Country Bike Tours in beautiful Andalucia. Can’t recommend this company highly enough.
Brilliant routes, fabulous hotels, spot on navigation (the app was amazing, impossible to take a wrong turn and so much extra information about where we were cycling through, and great recommendations for coffee and lunch stops).
We opted for hybrids which made the hills a wee bit more challenging, but the perfectly maintained and well-fitted bikes help us make short work of them. We felt so well supported and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We'll definitely be back again.

We had the best time on the March 2023 Olive Trails tour. Beautiful villages, lodging and and incredible food. You definitely get the feeling that this is a family run rather than a large, impersonal tour company. Geoff and Maggie do a great job of creating unique cultural and riding experiences in areas they have come to know and love so well. We hope to tour with Cycling County again in the future!

My wife and I did Enchanted Andalusia Oct 16-23, 2024, and had a wonderful time! Scenic rides, great accommodations, wonderful food. Lots of laughs too.
Geoff, Javier and Miguel did an excellent job of anticipating needs/exceeding expectations! We would highly recommend! 10 of us from this Andalusia tour hope to do Portugal, October 2025, with Cycling Country!! We enjoyed it that much that we're ready to do another tour with them!
